Well, if the folks who can hack it are only a minority, the
company doesn't have to worry about offending a minority, does
it?
I don't think there is much we ("those who can") can do about
it. The company has figured that its revenue is going to come
from services and so it won't care about upsetting those who
are never going to be part of their revenue model.
On a flippant note: one way for the company to prevent the
"I-closer" from being "hacked" would be to add a QNX-modem
(a la, Win-modem) so that it can't be used under Linux. That's
one more thread/FAQ on Linux mailing lists :-)
