My experience with Mandrake 7.0.2 was not good - it just seemed shot
through with QA problems, starting with a fancy new graphical
installation procedure that let you pick between KDE and Gnome but
installed neither! Control-panel was screwed up, too. Mandrake 6.0 was
the most attractive distro I'd seen up to that point (not that I'd seen
them all, so "ixnay" on the "ameflay") and remains so, since my personal
little jury is still out on Caldera OpenLinux and eServer.
