Because that have to put a filter up on the pole. It's not just plug and

play. If it were then you could simply get a cable modem from Circuit City

plug it in and provision the account over the phone.

So I plan to let them set up a Win95 box with the card that I plan to use

then switch it over to my Linux router once they leave. Since my router

is currently masquerading and also serving as a wireless gateway for a

pair of Webgear Aviator cards that I bought, transitioning to Linux is

an absolute requirement.
