Exchange is a pretty decent system - does a lot of nice stuff - if
everyone is using it (calendar, bulletin boards, etc...) We've had very
little trouble with ours.
On the negative side or the plus side for Unix/Sendmail
- AFAIK you can only backup the whole exchange mailbox file (unless you
have the proper backup software $$$) This means if the boss wipes out
his mailbox and two days later MUST have it back, everyone else goes back
two days. There are probably ways to do this without as much damage, but
not as simple as on a Unix box.
- Unix can do a much better job of scripting things (log reports,
automatically checking to make sure the service is up, etc...)
On the plus side however for Exchange is the Outlook Web Access, which is
VERY nice - it looks just like Outlook, but via a web browser.
