We recently (today) received a spanking new Dell PowerEdge 2450
with 4ea 10K SCSI drives, 512MB RAM....
During installation of Linux on the box, the scsi backplane card
keeps timing out. A call to Dell Support brings the claim that
there is a need for a special kernel version of RH.....
Can anyone on the list verify this? Dell wants $125.00 for a copy
of RedHat and quite frankly, I find it hard to believe that the
"fix" is not out here somewhere.
Any assistance greatly appreciated!
Mike
