Hi everybody,
I have a need to use linbar, which is a driver that allows users to pass
characters to the console keyboard buffer from any ttys (ie: barcode readers).
The program specifies that it must be run with suid root which I find
unsatisfactory for obvious reasons.
My question are:
A.) Is there any way to run a program (In this case a device driver) suid root
and maintain any type of system security that is worth having?
B.) Does anybody know of any other program/driver that provides this
functionalty that does not require suid root?
