Reasonable point.
You also must understand that a lot of the 'bragging' in the article has
to do with an 'innovation' that has been around for a long time. I
didn't see anywhere in the document where they say they are taking
advantage of an existing idea. No, to them, this is a brand new
innovation.
But as you noted, whether you want them automated or not. I can see it
now. I create a copy of a file in order to modify it and keep the
original intact. Before I have the opportunity to change the second
file, the OS does it's sym link. Not knowing this has happened, I go
ahead, say the next day, and modify what I believe is a second file.
Now I've just trashed my orginal file. This is the one thing M$ does
best. Doing things for you, you don't want them to do.
Why? Because M$'s approach to the user is, the user is stupid.
