Hello,
I was asked to relay how to reset the BIOS password on an IBM 365XD laptop.
Well.....the book said that one should short the two pads on the top of the
circuit board inside the
lithium battery door while powering up the unit. I got access to the
repair manual, and tried
everything I couild think of, and it did not work for me. I suspect there
were other problems
with that laptop. The two pads are approximately 1/8" square, and 1/4"
apart. I think they are
labeled RP or RS. You can access the pads easier if the keyboard is
lifted.
I also found the eeprom...a 34aac46 chip that holds the password, but had
to completely
disassemble the unit to find it.
