That's cool, and it sounds good for someone who DOESN'T want to dink w/
Linux...but my Linux box that serves as router/firewall, etc., I bought
at Microseconds...for $49. 486/33, no OS, 170MB hd, no modem (I use
ADSL, didn't need one), but it had a NIC, etc. Installed Debian, it runs
like a champ.
OK...I lied a little. I actually run OpenBSD on that box now (more secure,
I hope!), but it originally did the same thing running Debian. Point
being...never let $$ stand in the way of a good hack! *wink*
Don't get me wrong, though...the lil' guy sounds cool, and like a good
buy. But scrape up some pocket change, and go get another Linux box!
*grin* I just look at 'em as the easiest way to put another parallel
port/set of serial ports on my network...
Later!
