The way that I understand this is that Bellsouth owns
the lines and ISP is providing support for those
lines.
I can't get DSL through Bellsouth, but I can get it
through three other services who use Bellsouth.
Bellsouth lays the lines and the ISP provides support
for them. From the curb to your house I suppose.
I suppose that's why there is a 30-45 day waiting
list because Bellsouth can't handle the volume of
work. Although I dropped MediaOne because the modem
never worked for more than 15 minutes. They're
install waiting period was less than a week.
Everything else sucked IMHO.
