Hi,
Right now I don't see any identd messages in /var/log/syslog or
messages on my Debian Slink system.
My inetd.conf said:
ident stream tcp nowait nobody /usr/sbin/identd identd -i
so I changed it to
ident stream tcp nowait nobody /usr/sbin/identd identd -i -e -l
-o -n
and then went update-inetd --enable identd as root. Didn't see
any error messages. Questions:
1) Is this above the best way to make identd messages show up on
the syslog?
2) Weren't they supposed to be there already (in messages or
syslog)?
3) Is update-inetd --enable SERVICE better than kill -1 inetd?
TIA!
