Problem was I should run update-menus as a user so ~/.menu/* gets
prepended to the list of packages. Then the program aborts
(properly, I think) when it discovers it cannot write to the
other windowmanager files.
Now I am removing those entries I don't want using
~/.menu/package where package is emtpy. Kinda cool...
