First things first.  When you come across any question, check out the

HOWTO documents, they are your friends.  There is a ton of documentation

out there that will help.  You can find the HOWTOs on most every Linux

cd dist. as well as at http://www.linuxdoc.org I'd suggest cruising by

linuxdoc now, and familiarize yourself with it's layout and what it has

to offer.

You'll find a lot of folks on this list knowledgable and willing to

assist.

I don't know that you can do an http install, someone else on the list

will correct me if I'm wrong.   I know you can do an ftp install.

If you've got a cdrom on this 486, you might be better off popping over

to one of the sites that offer RH cdroms for a couple bucks,

http://www.cheapbytes.com/ start at $1.99.
