Running "make install" on the kernel on RedHat will run the script
/sbin/installkernel from the kernel make process. That will update the
boot image in /boot and will update the System.map as well (and run
lilo for you).
If you are not running a system with a script "/sbin/installkernel",
the Makefile has it's own proceedure that attempts to install the kernel
in /.
