Hey guys!
Got some questions. I am trying to download DDD from
freshmeat.com. The book I have, "C for Linux
Programming", uses THAT particular debugger throughout
the book, and I don't seem to have it.
Anyway, once I ftp to the site, there are a bunch of
files and different versions there. The latest
'stable' one is 3.2.1.
There was a list of files there, under 3.2.1. Do I
download them all at once, do I need some of them, but
not all, do I need to create a directory to send them
to, and I assume they have to be untarred and
unzipped?
I am assuming that these files are not rpm packages,
cause there is no rpm extension.
Then, what do I do once I've downloaded and tar
-xvf'ed them? do I need to do updatedb, or what?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I am
supposed to refresh my basic intrductory programming
skills before I take my Perl class, and the last class
I had was in Basic, about 10 years ago.
Thanks.
