That's not a problem here. The PC has the keyboard turned off in
the BIOS and boots perfectly fine with not error. I always loved the old
machines that would give you the error "Keyboard error. Hit to
continue." The problem is not the cost of the keyboard but is space. The
two systems in question are in a fairly tight rack. I suppose I could
set the keyboards on edge behind the machines in the rack, but that leaves
me more than a little uneasy about them getting bumped or keys getting held
down (stuck key - sure fire way to generate the above error).

Yeah... Got a couple of headless Sparc 2s operating this way too.

Have not had an opportunity to. The systems are off site. When
I'm not there, I control one from the other. When I am there, a mobile
cart with a screen and a keyboard is plugged into one or the other, thus
creating a catch-22. I may cart a spare keyboard with me next time I
make the field trip. :-)
