Sorry I am beating these question to you, I just

really want to know and understand what I am doing.

The Unversity now gave me and my housemates an option

to get 10base2 (10meg) connection to the unversity and

the internet, however they do not support Linux.  So,

this leads me to my question.   

Background - The unversity line (using a microsoft

DHCP server connected to a hub, hub also connects 1

server and workstations.

Do I just setup the Linux box as DHCP and leave it

alone?  or do have the school server as a static

address and then use DHCP for the workstations? or can

you do this? Sorry, I know I have beat the horse dead

but I have questions that the books I have don't answer.
