As an aside, I noted at my local Best Buy that Red Hat 6.0 retailed for apx
$74, while release 6.1 came out for apx $34. I downloaded both, so I really
don't know what came with the former to 'justify' it costing so much more
than the latter, but I'm still curious as to why. Any opinions?
Also, I had both Gnome and KDE in 6.0, but KDE is gone (lost?) as an option
from my 6.1 desktop. I don't recall even getting the option to load it
during install. What happened? I know the orig 6.1 boot diskette had some
problems, however I booted and installed from the CD.
Whatever. Quite nice and very useable versions, both. The Gnome desktop I
have now at work rivals my NT box's in both appearance and functionality. I
think if they gather up all the configuration tools into one place and clean
up the install a little, and create some kind of 'create quick link to the
desktop' utility ala MS shortcuts (oops, sorry), it will get even better
yet.

(And if I could get the pan 0.6.7 newsreader to properly install -- it
complains about missing some Gnome libraries -- I could likley drop MS
entirely for home use).
