You need to get the ntfs module and load it.  Did you compile your

kernel for ntfs support?  If you did, the module might already exist,

try 'insmod ntfs' and see what happens.  I don't believe ntfs support

comes by default with any of the current dists.

Also, note, the last time I checked, the readability was okay, but

writing to the ntfs could trash it.
