If you're asking if the Linux kernel is based on
an explicit message-passing architecture a la Taos,
then the answer is "No." It's a monolithic kernel
whose different subsystems communicate via function
calls and shared data structures.
On another level, you might say that Linux is
message-based in the sense that without all the
messages that have been exchanged between Linus,
the other developers, and the users over the
past 10 years, it certainly wouldn't exist in
its present form :^)
On a totally different subject: anyone on this
list happen to physically live in West Texas or
southern New Mexico?
