If you are referring to the educational copy of
Solaris, I don't think it come with cc. For a
plain-vanilla Solaris installation, you might
want to use some of the precompiled binaries
from:
http://smc.vnet.net/
You might start with make, gcc, emacs, less,
bash/zsh, bzip2, etc. From there, you can build
your own up-to-date copies of open source tools.
Check the MD5 checksums.
