Try this....
1. set your system clock using `date`
2. copy your system clock to the hardware clock
using `hwclock -sctohc`
or `hwclock -sctohc -u` if your CMOS is GMT
(The `hwclock` options may not be quite correct as I don't have access to a
Linux system where I am)
