they've upgraded their database, so any NIC-HANDLES.... will have to be
queried via their forms based service.
Yes it was for security reasons.
This has been done to avoid End-User misunderstanding. As you could have
changed the contact information for a hostmaster that would result in
having the existing and newly registered domains, being registered through
a particular service with default HOSTMASTER, as having misconstrued and
uterlly incorrect information.
Imagine getting 200 something emails every half-hour and call's from
hundreds of domainname owners. These people think you're their hostmaster
and having to explain otherwise & quite frankly how this mix-up happened.
