Hi,
This mouse works as PS/2 or USB, right?
I asked about this on the linux-usb mailing list.
Vojtech Pavlik (SuSE) works on lots of input device
drivers (mice, joysticks, keyboards, etc.).
He says that for USB mice in Linux 2.3/2.4, we have
drivers to support 5 buttons. However, there's likely
to be little userspace (gpm or X) support for it.

usbmouse.c has support for 5 buttons. hid.c has support for any number
of buttons. mousedev.c has support for 5 buttons in the GenPS/2 mode,
described in the hid.txt file. evdev.c has support for any number of
mouse buttons. It should work - if there is any userspace support (gpm,
X), which I doubt. You can use evtest I posted earlier to the list, and
also available in input-utils at www.suse.cz/development/input, to see
if the additional buttons work ...
