You have to edit the /etc/fstab to add the "user"
option, for example:
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto sync,user,noauto 0 0

Subject: [ale] User mounting floppy/cdrom
Folks,
How do I allow a user to mount a floppy/cdrom on a Linux box (RH 6.0)?
I
can see that in /etc/group there is a group called floppy, I put
myself in
that group, logged in again but I still can't mount the device.
mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
mount: only root can do that
Any suggestions?
Ben.
