I have this in my /etc/fstab:
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy ext2 user,noexec,nodev,nosuid,rw,noauto 0 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 user,noexec,nodev,nosuid,ro,noauto 0 0
/dev/zip /mnt/zip auto user,noexec,nodev,nosuid,rw,noauto 1 2
This allows non-root users to access floppy/cdrom/zip drive from X using
gnome panel applet drive-mount. It would probably be better to change the
ext2 type in floppy to auto, but I don't have too many people putting dos
floppies in.
