I use linksys cards on my home lan which use the same tulip chip. I just recently bought a new card and found that it doesnt work w/ the stock tulip driver in the kernel, to get it working I had to recompile the kernel with a new tulip.c from one of the floppy disks. You may need to do the same thing, or if there isnt a driver on the floppy let me know and Ill email you the one that I got w/ the linksys.

ps. I have heard that card be recommended on multiple occasions, so I suspect it is something stupid like my newer linksys card is.

FA310TX Rev. D1 cards. On the box they promised that it would work with
linux, however my experience proves otherwise. I've been trying to get
these cards working with linux for almost 6 months!! I gave their tech
support multiple calls, they gave me many possible solutions, none of
which worked. On my final call they admitted to me that linux was not
supported. I asked them why they would list it as supported on the box
and on their website. They responded saying that the network card would
work with linux, but only sometimes. (A bunch of BS I assure you) I
requested that they take my two cards back for a refund. They refused. I
requested that they exchange my 2 cards with 2 from an older revision of
the FA310TX (these are proven to work with the tulip driver). They also
refused. Let me just tell you that I am a very dissatisfied customer and
that the ethernet how-to should be updated stating that the D1 and D2
revisions of the FA310TX WILL NOT work with linux. Basically I am now
stuck with 2 useless NIC's. Companies like this should be penalized for
luring in customers with clever false advertising. Please help spread
the word about this issue.

PS. If you search the tulip mailing lists you will find many references
to this particular card (rev D1 and D2), many of which involve problems
getting them to work.
