Chris,
I think I have seen advertisments for a Gwinnett Technical Institute and
Lanier Tech should be quite close to you. You might see what they have to
offer.
Under the FWIW department:
Since you have the BS in CIS consisder doing a Master's at SPSU. I know it
is a long drive too (Marietta), but the classes are taught at night and you
can work your schedule out such that you only have to come twice a week. I'm
assuming you're working full time now and would go part time. The MSCS is
more theory oriented so it should complement the practical training you got
with the CIS fairly well. There is also a MS in software engineering if
that lies more toward your interest. You do not need a BS in CS to be
considered for the program. My undergraduate degree was in biology. I had
to take "transitional courses" which are intensive courses to prepare you
for the MS level classes. I have been very pleased with the level of
instruction and the professors are very accessible.
Hope this helps,
Reid

Actually I have a BS in CIS. I just wanted to work on my CS degree to get a
more in-depth understanding of things other than what a CIS degree teaches.

Chris,
Assuming you're in high school right now (or recently graduated) I would
explore your options for going to and living at GaTech (avoids the drive).
I'm a MS student at Southern Poly(SPSU) and I have interaction with the
folks at Tech. There is a LOT going on down there and Linux is very popular.
SPSU also has a good CS department and very much worth considering, they
also have dorms. However GaTech is obviously the better school and if you
can make the disicplined commitment to study there you shouldn't let the
first thing stand in your way. You only go to college once make the most of
it.

Is there a college in the Gwinnett are that has a good Computer Science
program? I would go to TECH but do not want to drive there from Buford.
Thanks,
Chris
