Job Description<br>
<br>
The Unix Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations
and maintenance of the GPC Shared Services Unix and Linux servers
and infrastructure systems. The Unix Administrator carries out
responsibilities in some or all of the following technical areas:
Server maintenance, System upgrades and procurement, infrastructure
design and layout, Disaster Recovery design and implementation, OS
installation and maintenance, and server hardening.<br>

Responsibilities<br>
<br>
Primary Administrator of various Red Hat/CentOS servers in the
environment<br>
Secondary Administrator of various IBM AIX LPARS and hardware<br>
Works heavily with all teams to automate jobs via KSH/Bash
scripting<br>
Administer Nagios application and assist other administrators in
using Nagios<br>
Assist with design and deployment of physical and virtual Linux
/ Unix systems<br>
Assist in planning, installation, administration of Disaster
Recovery for Linux/AIX servers<br>
Configure, update and operate monitoring of Data Center
operations, including application and hardware environmental
monitoring.<br>
Ensure all Unix/Linux based servers are adhering to change
control and are audited<br>
Working with customers both internal and external to
troubleshoot problem reports<br>
Maintain documentation for both daily operations and Disaster
Recovery<br>
Assist with security architecture and monitoring as it pertains
to Linux/AIX<br>
On call 24/7 x 365 for emergencies and a shift in the weekly
monitoring schedule<br>

Qualifications<br>

Requirements<br>
<br>
3+ years administrative experience in Linux (Red Hat 5+, CentOS)<br>
2+ years experience in heavy shell scripting (korn/bash)<br>
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience<br>
1+ years experience managing Nagios / Centreon / CACTI or like
monitoring system<br>
2+ years experience in one of the following: Perl, Python, PHP,
C/C++<br>
Puppet, Chef or other automation tool experience<br>
Dell / IBM / Cisco UCS hardware experience<br>

Desired Skills<br>
<br>
Oracle database experience<br>
NetApp NAS/SAN experience<br>
2+ years experience working with VMWare Infrastructure 4.x+<br>
1+ years administrative experience in IBM AIX (AIX 5.3+)<br>
IBM HMC administration experience<br>
Red Hat Satellite, IBM BigFix experience<br>
Storage multipathing and disk setup on a server for fiber
channel storage.<br>
