> The Intersect Group’s client, located in Atlanta, GA, is looking for a Linux Security Engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience involving management of Windows servers, Linux servers, VMware vSphere platforms, Linux based virtualization systems (Xen and KVM), and applications in a highly dynamic environment. The Linux Security Engineer will work closely with the security team to analyze, mitigate and remediate vulnerability assessment findings. The Security Engineer provides support to planning, designing and implementing security controls which safeguard and monitor events for information systems, enterprise applications and data. This position reports to the Manager of Technical Operations.<br>

> Desired Technical Skills<br>
><br>
> 5+ years Linux Admin Experience.<br>
><br>
> RHEL & CentOS server installation experience.<br>
><br>
> HP Hardware troubleshooting and replacement.<br>
><br>
> Exposure to vulnerability assessment software and security patching. User management ( Kerberos, openLDAP).<br>
><br>
> Scripting using bash, ksh, or python.<br>
><br>
> Xen virtualization.<br>
><br>
> Apache & Tomcat configuration and maintenance, including client authenticated SSL<br>
><br>
> Patch management.<br>
><br>
> Heavy SSL and encryption experience<br>
><br>
> WAF experience<br>
><br>
> DLP Data Loss Prevention<br>
><br>
> Assist the development of security tool requirements, trials, and evaluations, as well as security operations procedures and processes.<br>
><br>
> Provide off-hours support on as needed basis.<br>
><br>
> Experience with PCI or ISO security audit experience<br>
><br>
> Log Indexing and Correlation platform<br>
><br>
> Experience with configurations of FIM tools<br>
><br>
> Vulnerability scanning systems and tools<br>
><br>
> Professional Qualifications:<br>
><br>
> 5+ years of experience as an infrastructure engineer / systems administrator.<br>
><br>
> B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.<br>
><br>
> Expert knowledge of Ethernet and TCP/IP.<br>
><br>
> Candidate must have experience managing and supporting multiple operating systems, environments and applications.<br>
><br>
> Candidate must have expert proficiency in Linux system metrics and tools.<br>
><br>
> Candidate must have proficiency in designing and supporting networks, including firewall configuration.<br>
><br>
> Candidate must have experience provisioning and configuring a variety of servers.<br>
><br>
> Candidate must have experience with network, server and application security.<br>
><br>
> Candidate must have deep experience with HTTP and Internet applications and services.<br>
><br>
> Candidate must have the ability to analyze, dissect and re-engineer existing solutions.<br>
><br>
> Excellent time management skills are a must. The candidate must be able to complete projects on tight deadlines while handling numerous unplanned interruptions.<br>
><br>
> Excellent communication skills. The candidate must be able to clearly and precisely communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.<br>
