<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Job Description:</b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This position is responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of all Linux/UNIX systems. The systems administrator will support daily operations and help develop strategies to improve availability and utilization
of East Alabama Medical Centers Linux / UNIX environment.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt"><b>Experience:</b><br>
Must be able to exhibit previous experience in the following areas:</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> Server installation and upgrades.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> Daily administrative duties for multiple Linux/UNIX servers.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> Patch management and monitoring.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> Create, test, and maintain system backups for Linux/UNIX servers.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> Maintain and develop system monitoring tools.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> Maintain and develop high availability solutions.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> Support 24x7x365 data center operations.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> Provide on-call support.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt"><b> </b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt"><b>Minimum:<br>
</b>2 years system administration experience in a Linux / UNIX environment supporting mission critical systems. Good interpersonal communication skills and written communication skills. Experience configuring and maintaining Bind DNS & DHCP, NFS, SAMBA, and
SNMP. Perl or other scripting language.<b></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt"><b>Preferred / Desired:<br>
</b>5+ years system administration experience in a Linux / UNIX environment supporting mission critical systems. Experience configuring HA systems using Red Hat Cluster Suite and GFS.<b></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Education:</b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">College degree in Information Systems, Electrical</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Engineering or equivalent.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt"><b>Minimum:</b> Associates degree.

<b>Preferred:</b> Bachelor's degree.</p>
