We use a combination of Centos and Solaris, with the occasional Gentoo, Ubuntu or OSX server here or there. Expect to work directly with high level developers on projects and work to blur the lines between traditional system operations and developers. You should have proficiency in some sort of development language like Ruby or PHP.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-GB>Client does lots of work with databases and stores like MySQL, Memcached, MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL. Additional experience with data architecture, capacity planning, and/or data modeling would most likely get our complete attention.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-GB>Client has its own datacenter with lots of servers and network equipment, so knowing your way around Cisco IOS or an F5 BigIP is a plus. You should not be scared of the terms Kickstart, Jumpstart, and Cobbler. Knowledge of shell scripting is a must, as well as an eagerness to automate wherever and whenever the possibility arises.
