Position 1 - Systems Security Engineer (up to 195K depending on experience)
This company is seeking a Systems Security Engineer to accelerate security controls projects and organically improve security practices from within their Systems Engineering team. This role will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering and have a dotted line relationship to the CISO. This person will interact with multiple departments, including Legal and Software Engineering to successfully fulfill job responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities: 
Lead Company systems security enhancement projects of varying size and scope.
Aid in the secure creation, automation, provisioning, and deployment of Linux-based operating systems and applications rapidly and at a very large scale.
Design and deploy technical security controls into the systems architecture.
Aid in achievement and maintenance of technical compliance requirements.
Conduct and analyze vulnerability assessments using commercial or open source tools.
Assure security relevant logs are being centrally stored and monitored for intrusions and participate in intrusion response processes as needed.
Manage server security systems image and build hardening processes.
Support vulnerability exposure assessments for new vulnerabilities to determine mitigation strategy necessary to keep systems and data safe.
Think out of the box and solve complex security problems at scale while balancing stability, scalability and performance.

Desired Skills & Experience:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent IT work experience.
5+ years’ experience in a systems engineering role working on security related efforts in large (100’s-1000’s) server environments.
Must have prior experience managing host-based security controls such as IPTables, mod_security, host-based intrusion detection (HIDS), file Integrity monitoring (FIM), etc.
Familiarity with configuration management tools like Puppet (preferred), but Ansible / Chef / Salt acceptable.
Foundational understanding of networking is required.
Experience with scripting and system automation (Bash, Python, Perl, Awk, etc).
Experience w/ virtualization technologies (KVM preferred).
Experience with ElasticSearch and Kibana (a.k.a. ELK stack).

Position 2 - Linux System Engineer (90k - 120k depending on experience)
Primary Responsibilities:
Participate in and lead Company infrastructure expansion / enhancement projects of varying size and scope
Create, automate, provision, and deploy Linux-based operating systems / applications rapidly and at a very large scale
Ensure system stability, scalability, security and performance
Create and maintain documentation surrounding our infrastructure
Think out of the box and solve complex scaling challenges

Desired Skills& Experience:
Must have solid configuration management skills, Puppet preferred, but Ansible / Chef / Salt acceptable
4 + Years experience with Linux administration Ubuntu preferred
Experience with Linux firewalls (IPTables) and general Linux networking
Experience with scripting and system automation (Bash, Python, Perl, Awk, etc) Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent IT work experience
Experience supporting BIND/PowerDNS, Apache/NGINX, load balancers
Solid virtualization experience, KVM preferred

BONUS POINTS
Experience with ZFS, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Openstack a plus
