Hiring:  Senior Sysadmin FULL TIME

OS:  Ubuntu Linux
Hosted On:  Amazon EC2

Programs we use frequently: PHP, Perl, MySQL

Our primary use for our software:  Web application with VERY heavy database
access.

Users:  Our users are world wide.  The America, Europe, Asia, and
Australia.  Currently ALL our servers are in North America due to ease of
replicating database information.  We are open to hosting nodes in more
"local" areas to our users if that is handled well.


Description of what I am looking for from a high level standpoint:  We need
to be able to handle a thousand+ concurrent users on our database system.
We can cache a lot of the data more than we do, although we need a good
level of REAL TIME reporting of data.  We would like to use something like
the "Automatic Scaling" to launch additional instances as needed.  We have
never used that previously, though.

We have an existing company where our programmers have been doing our
Sysadmin work for the last 17 years.  That has worked "ok", but now we have
a large company that has the specific need "system reliability, speed, and
security".  Their only reason for coming to us is because their in house
team has been unable to handle their load issues!

So, we decided we needed outside help to ensure that we can handle their
load.
