2.0       SCOPE

The purpose of this task order is to provide client with:

*         One (1) qualified Senior Systems Administrator for Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux, Windows and VMWare based systems.

Candidates for the job are expected to be mid - senior level personnel, and fully capable at time of hire of providing the following scope of service:

A.       Day-to-day system administration responsibilities for Red Hat Linux, Sun Solaris and Windows based production, test and development servers at primary and secondary sites.

B.       Initialization of virtualized Red Hat servers in VM Ware environment.

C.      Configuration of new server instantiations, and reconfiguration of existing server instantiations.

D.      Configuration and maintenance of storage devices such as network storage arrays.

E.       Configuration and maintenance of system network devices, and integration of system components with the customer enterprise network.

F.       Installation, configuration and upgrades of operating system utilities and applications.

G.      Server, network, and disk array planning, preparation, and configuration in support of application software installation by other team personnel such as DBA's.

H.      Management of system, server or network resources (disk space, RAM, network bandwidth, etc.) to ensure adequate resource distribution for all systems.

I.         As needed, ability to bed down or assume support of 3rd party sourced, government off the shelf (GOTS), or proprietary hardware and/or software systems as mandated by the CDC customer.

J.        Configuration, maintenance, and oversight of the security posture of all system components managed ensuring they are compliant with customer mandated standards.

K.       Analysis of OS security controls impact on system applications, and implementation of security controls to government customer standards.

L.       Analysis of government generated application, system or OS security scans to determine course of action for timely remediation of discovered vulnerabilities.

M.      Timely and comprehensive application of system component patches and upgrades to maintain security posture of system.

N.      Management of server and application certificates as needed, including certificate request generation and certificate loading.

O.      Configuration and maintenance of local firewalls to customer standards.

P.       System and user account management and creation in accordance with customer security directives.

Q.      Management, configuration and maintenance of backup and recovery strategies at the file level for all servers and storage devices.

R.      Development and maintenance of custom scripts and jobs to implement system support requirements.

S.       Remote and physical response and resolution efforts for system down notifications.

T.       Helpdesk operations support including analysis and troubleshooting leading to the resolution of ticket issue.

U.      Performance tuning of all server, network, storage or system components.

V.       Installation and configuration of automated monitoring tools for alert notification in advance of impact to system users.

W.     Teamwork with team project managers, system analysts, and database administrators in the specification and elaboration of system designs and architectures to enhance existing system requirements or implement emerging customer requirements.

X.       Documentation including system architecture, component configuration, and processes.

Y.       Planning and scheduling inputs to project management for all tasks.

Z.       Innovation recommendations leading to increased security, reliability, availability or supportability for system or system components.

3.0       PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS

The following mandatory and desirable qualifications and characteristics will be used by Client to judge the suitability of any personnel proposed by the Subcontractor.   Client reserves the right to change these qualifications or characteristics at any time.   The suitability of any personnel proposed by the Subcontractor to fulfil this task order will be exclusively judged by Client.   Client will judge personnel qualifications by either single or multiple rounds of interviews via phone or in-person interviews (for local candidates) with client managers and technical staff prior to making a final hiring decision.



3.1 Mandatory Personnel Qualifications

The following are mandatory minimum qualifications as dictated by clients' for this position:

A.     Willingness to submit to and ability to pass background investigation leading to obtaining and maintaining a US Government Public Trust Level 5 clearance.

B.     At least ten (10) years of Sun Solaris System Administration.

C.     At least ten (10) years of Linux System Administration

D.     At least ten (10) years of Microsoft Windows System Administration

E.      At least five (5) years of experience in VMWare environments.

F.      Ability to pass an Advanced-High Proficiency levels (Speaking and Writing) in English as measured by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.

G.     Ability to respond within  90 minutes in case of system down or other emergencies to the following work locations:

a.         Roybal Campus, 1600 Clifton Rd, Atlanta, GA.

b.        6 Executive Park Drive, Atlanta, GA.



3.2 Desirable Personnel Qualifications

The following are desirable qualifications for subcontractor personnel on this task order:

A.     Relevant system administration certifications from Sun, Red Hat, Microsoft or non-Red Hat Linux vendor.

B.     Experience with Red Hat Satellite and Kickstart

C.     Experience administering Puppet/SIMP

D.     Security certifications such as Network+, Security+, or CISP.

E.      Bachelor's or Associates degree in a technical area of expertise.

F.      Previous experience administering government computer systems, and in particular classified government computer systems.

G.     Previous or existing government security clearances.


3.3 Personnel Personal Characteristics

The following personal characteristics will be evaluated by Leidos for suitability of personnel submitted on this task order:

A.     Excellent teamwork skills with ability to work within a team framework to deliver a capability, solution or system upgrade.

B.     Ability to integrate with existing staff and customer representatives in a collaborative, constructive manner.

C.     Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks.
Ability to work against task and project schedules and deadlines.
